Personal Support Worker

North York Seniors Centre provides programs and services to promote the physical, emotional and social well being of adults 55+ living in our diverse community.

This position reports to the In-Home Services Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care for clients in their homes
• Provide light housekeeping for clients in their homes
• Report client changes and complete the client progress reports

Qualifications/ Skills:

• A graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker program with a school registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
• Completion of a vulnerable sector screening 1 year or less
• Up-to-date First Aid and CPR training
• Fluent in English and other languages an asset (i.e. Russian, Polish, Chinese, Korean, Farsi)
• Ability to work in both community and assisted living setting
• Strong communication and written skills
• One year of experience working as a personal support worker, an asset
• Physically able to support clients during transfers from position to position
• Valid driver license and car available; an asset
• Participate in continuous quality improvement processes
• Maintain a high standard of customer service that is client focused
• Location: North York 
• Compliant to NYSC's Vaccination Policy
