Location: Fort St. John
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related human/social service field. minimum 2 years experience in foster care, or such as that of a resource worker, family preservation worker, family counselor or foster parent. Relevant experience and education may be considered. Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Experience working with Aboriginal communities is preferred.
Duties: Works in collaboration with MCFD to recruit, train, support and retain Foster Parents in Fort St John, Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Fort Nelson and aboriginal communities. Will provide training for foster parents or arrange for training, plan recruitment and retention activities in conjunction with MCFD staff. Will support Foster Parents in any investigative proceedings according to established protocols.
Must update and maintain the website for Foster Parents and produce a quarterly Newsletter.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week – Is on call 24/7 for emergencies only (note – this may change and not be required)
Vehicle Use: This position requires that you use your personal vehicle. for travel in the region as needed. Mileage to be reimbursed .Travel will be frequent with quarterly trips to Fort Nelson, bi monthly to Dawson Creek and Chetwynd (some are virtual and travel is easier during summer months). You must have a valid driver’s license.
Start date: As soon as possible
Hourly Rate: Grid level 16 as per Collective Agreement $33.75-$39.30. Plus on call pay. This position is open to male and female applicants and requires union membership.
