Hours: 30 hours weekly- Monday to Friday
Our ideal candidate for this position brings the right attitude to connect with seniors and apply creative approaches to facilitate programs for seniors who are dealing with cultural and linguistic barriers in connecting with support services.
The main goal of the program is to assist Punjabi and Hindi speaking seniors in Millwoods and surrounding areas, by connecting them with appropriate resources to mitigate their financial, physical, and mental well-being concerns.
The project coordinator acts as a conduit of evidence-based information, advocate and ally for seniors. Some of the job duties might include but are not limited to completing income support and subsidized benefit applications, supporting clients in accessing accurate information, facilitating referrals to credible community resources for long-term and sustainable financial assistance, independence, and empowerment.
Facilitating participation in virtual and in-person wellness and educational activities on health-related activities, and organizing information sessions about topics pertinent to physical, mental, and financial health, and lifestyle to experience sense of belongings and meaningful social interaction to increase their level of community connection and to reduce isolation.
