About CASA

CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle – mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care and acute treatment in hospital.

CASAs team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.

About the Role

The Assessment Psychologist will support patients, therapists and psychiatrists through formal assessment, complex case discussion or specialized educational interventions where learning or cognitive factors interrupt treatment services or functioning in the classroom. The psychologist administers, evaluates and interprets psychological testing to support the patient’s treatment progress at CASA.

The Assessment Psychologist will:

  • Select and administer age-appropriate standardized assessment tools to determine the cognitive and/or academic needs of the child or adolescent.
  • Interpret assessment results and compile comprehensive psychological assessment reports that include evidence-based recommendations.
  • Provide consultation and report translation services to clinicians.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups and presentations for CASA staff, families and external organizations.

Maximum salary: $53.90

Hours per shift: 7.25

Shifts per week:  Five    
Days off: Saturday/Sunday 

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in psychology with a specialty in assessment.
  • Minimum two years of related experience is required.
  • Previous formalized training and experience with a wide range of psychological assessments, including cognitive, academic, executive functioning, memory, adaptive, social-emotional and behavioural standardized batteries.
  • Prior multidisciplinary team experience and ability to collaborate.
  • Prior success treating youth with learning disorders, developmental delays, executive dysfunction and/or other complex needs is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 operator’s license and access to transportation.

Conditions of Employment

  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
