This position plans and coordinates all aspects of shipping including for small parcel freight, national and international outbound and inbound destinations, and customized delivery requests. This position prepares, analyzes, and audits import and export documentation, permits, and customs brokerage for university-wide stakeholders. This position maintains the university small parcel shipping portal. This position facilitates communications between carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders and maintains relationships and contracts with preferred carriers and couriers, and provides advice and support to those involved with shipping and receiving complex shipments.
What you will do
- Plans and coordinates all aspects of shipping such for small parcel freight, national and international inbound and outbound destinations, and customized delivery requests.
- Coordinates complex logistics transactions to mitigate risks and costs.
- Prepares, analyzes and audits import and export documentation, permits, and customs brokerage for university-wide stakeholders.
- Maintains university small parcel shipping portal including program updates and user access requirements.
- Provides user training for university shipping portal.
- Facilitates communications between carriers, brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensures adherence to CARMS, CUSMA and CTPAT requirements for the university.
- Develops and maintains relationships and contracts with preferred carriers and couriers, and provides advice and support to those involved with shipping and receiving complex shipments.
- Other duties as required in the support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education
- Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.

- in supply chain management preferred.
Required Experience
- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
- Experience in supply chain, logistics or 3PL considered an asset.
- Familiarity with supply chain regulations and agreements considered an asset (e.g., CARMS, CUSMA, CTPAT).
Required Licenses and Certifications
- SMT, CITT or APICS Certificate required.
- TDG Certification required.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
