Place des Arts is seeking a committed, enthusiastic and qualified Ceramics Instructor who is passionate about art and teaching youth and adults.

 

The successful candidate will join Place des Arts for the fall, winter and spring sessions (September 2023-June 2024) to teach the following in-person handbuilding and wheel throwing classes on Wednesday evenings:

  • Pottery and Sculpture, for students ages 13-17, 4:00-6:00 PM
  • Fundamentals of Wheel Throwing & Handbuilding, for students ages 18+, 6:30-8:30 PM

Place des Arts provides quality arts education in visual arts, music, dance and drama for all ages and skill levels. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of post-secondary education in ceramics, experience working in the ceramics industry and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience working with various ages and abilities

REMUNERATION

Starting at $40 per hour. Instructors are contracted to a self-employment agreement. Place des Arts coordinates studio space, scheduling, registration and program promotions.

 

REQUIREMENTS

All teachers are required to obtain and provide a Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector check prior to commencing work.
