SUPERVISOR, TRANSITIONAL HOUSING (1.0 FTE)

The Program Supervisor supports the Program Manager in the delivery of residential services to clients. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department and providing guidance and leadership to the housing staff team.

This is a temporary full-time position covering a maternity leave. This role is Monday to Friday, however, may involve some evening and weekend hours based on the needs of the program.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Provide administrative, clinical, and supportive supervision on a regular basis (scheduled and ad-hoc) to program staff and/or practicum students where applicable
• Plan and coordinate team meetings, staff development opportunities, and team building activities
• Ensure staff are delivering interventions in alignment with organizational and program standards
• Participate in the recruitment, selection, orientation process for new team members
• Act in accordance to YW Calgary standards and Code of Conduct; ensure professional standards and practice are aligned with the standards of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Privacy Act
• Monitor and coordinate client services, including but not limited to intake, case management, intervention, safety planning and communicate key updates on emerging issues to Program Manager
• Identify and resolve ethical, clinical, and systemic issues including referrals and waitlists
• Participate in ongoing program development and enhancements to align with the vision, mission, and practice framework of YW to meet client needs
• Maintain appropriate records, including client documentation, staff training records, performance management records, and staff schedules, etc.
• Participate in development, training opportunities, presentation; stay current with the literature and the trends related to the populations served
• Participate in the on-call system


WHAT YOU’LL BRING
• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work (with a specialization in clinical practice); registration with appropriate regulatory body is required.
• At least five years of relevant experience with at least two years working in a supervisory capacity
• Analytical and critical thinking skills and results driven
• Skilled at working with women who have experienced homelessness, mental health, addictions, and trauma; strong knowledge of resources specific to mental health and substance use
• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and balance competing demands
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
• Organization and time management skills
• Current first aid and CPR is an assert
• A clear Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment
