Job Title: Manager of Supportive Housing Services

Reports to: Program Director

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000

Compensation & Benefits: Group Benefit Plan

Schedule: Business hours, with some regular evening and weekend work

 

Job Overview: The Manager of Supportive Housing Services is responsible for the support and oversight of Wyndham House’s Supportive Housing Programs. In addition to ensuring quality services for youth, the Manager of Supportive Housing Services will offer direct supervision and day to day support for staff including hiring, training, and development. They will be responsible for managing intakes, discharges, and service delivery within the context of coordinated access. The Manager of Supportive Housing Services will partner and liaise with community agencies, organizations, and government agencies to drive service outcomes and promote stable housing for youth in the programs. Further, they have responsibility for oversight of all programming within our Emergency Youth Shelter and Supportive Housing programs, including recreational, therapeutic, community activities, and life skills programming.

 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Hiring, training, and direct supervision of 16 full-time employees in our Bellevue and Suffolk programs
  • Managing and triaging the waitlist, while overseeing intakes
  • Managing service plans and risk and behavioural concerns for clients in the program
  • Ensuring quality care for clients in the program
  • Ensuring all requirements of the program contracts are met, including program accreditation, case management standards, and grant-related requirements
  • Completing relevant audits, reviews, and reporting to funders
  • Evaluating and improving systems and processes by ensuring best practices are utilized
  • Collaborating and communicating with other programs and external partners
  • Assisting the Program Director and/or Executive Director with other projects, initiatives, and duties when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in social work, human services, or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervision/ progressive leadership experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Proficient skill in direct service provision to youth in a residential, mental health, or criminal justice setting, including case management or related experience
  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to manage staff performance and crisis situations
  • Understanding of issues related to youth homelessness and related legislation such as the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Youth Justice Act, and relevant housing and homelessness legislation
  • Advanced understanding of substance-use and harm reduction theory and practice, with an established ability to lead harm reduction interventions
  • Developed experience in implementing programs and services
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Experience with youth engagement programming
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working from an anti-oppression framework
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset

Required:

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Welfare Intervention Record Check
