Job Description:

The Burnaby Neighbourhood House is a volunteer-driven community based social service agency that provides programs and services in response to identified community needs. Under the direction of the Digital Literacy Supervisor, the Digital Literacy Program Lead will work out of our North House to deliver ongoing virtual programming as well as support the delivery of Digital outreach programs. This position requires tech savvy individuals who are also comfortable dealing with the diverse BNH members participating in the programming.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Liaise with Program Supervisor to organize programming delivery requirements and achieve project outcomes
  • Run weekly in-person drop-ins as well as outreach sessions as needed
  • Assist with identifying outreach program locations and scheduling
  • Help promote digital outreach programs using BNH social media and other networks
  • Support Digital Literacy Supervisor in the delivery of these programs
  • Track member participation numbers and other stats required for evaluation purposes and for reporting out to funder
  • Support volunteers in program delivery
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and awareness of issues surrounding diversity and multiculturalism
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Fully proficient in social media and all aspects of the internet including various media & videoconferencing platforms
  • Organized, detail-oriented and have an aptitude for working with multi-barrier participants
  • Excellent cross cultural communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge and awareness of issues surrounding diversity and multiculturalism
  • Experience working with adults and with a community based organization an asset
  • Second language an asset

 

Accountability:

The Digital Literacy Program Assistant reports to the Digital Literacy Supervisor.

 

Hours & Pay rate:  20 hrs. /week

 

Rate of pay: $20.42/hour

Deadline for submission: March 20, 2023

Start date:  ASAP

Contract ends: March 31, 2025
