About the role:

As part of our energetic and talented Customer Care team, you will support the Financial Pathways Collaborative initiative, through preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and providing administrative support to Financial Pathways Collaborative and Each One, Teach One meetings and workshops. Your support in facilitating these engagement opportunities plays a significant role in contributing to our mission of mobilizing collective action to create pathways out of poverty in the Edmonton and area.

This Temporary part-time (0.8 FTE) position allows you to apply your passion for providing exceptional experiences to our community through various programs and activities. You facilitate and support a variety of engagement opportunities including Each One, Teach One workshops and other similar activities. You will drive efficiency and service excellence through collaborating and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, coordinating meetings & events, organizing volunteer training, supporting program evaluation, and other program stewardship and growth activities. You will participate as a member of various committees including attending meetings, providing input, and providing support as needed.


The Day to Day

  • Supports the Financial Pathways Collaborative (FPC) by monitoring funding and budget, scheduling workshops, tracking annual volunteer hours, writing program data reports, providing program updates, and liaising with volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates monthly FPC meetings by booking space, inviting attendees, drafting agendas and developing meeting materials, corresponding with FPC Chair, arranging refreshments, and taking and distributing minutes.
  • Coordinates Each One Teach One (EOTO) program by promoting EOTO in the community and online, connecting with current and prospective partners, booking workshops and booths, supporting volunteer recruitment, scheduling and supporting volunteers, coordinating volunteer training, collecting and analyzing program data, and developing reports and monthly newsletters.
  • Organizes annual EOTO volunteer training including scheduling events, coordinating logistics, drafting agendas, ordering and preparing training materials, arranging catering, and providing onsite session support as required.
  • Maintains master booking event and volunteer schedule. Monitors program schedule to ensure workshop targets and goals are met. Provides monthly update totals to key stakeholders.
  • Collects and maintains evaluation data and provides evaluation reports to external evaluator.
  • Promotes the FPC and EOTO workshops by circulating promotional materials, giving presentations in the community, and educating the public at resource fairs.
  • Creates promotional posters and social media posts, and ‘Thank You’ cards for program contributors as required.
  • Supports other United Way  initiatives as needed

About you:

You are eager to apply your exceptional customer service and administrative expertise to this role and provide opportunities that capture the hearts and minds of our community. You are a self-starter, have a can-do attitude, are outcomes driven, solution seeking, and approach situations with empathy and collaboration. Thinking creatively, staying organized, and building relationships is how you thrive. You love operating in a digital environment and are proficient with MS Office (we use Office 365 – MS Teams, SharePoint), and enjoy learning and using new technology.

You have a post-secondary diploma and two to three years of related experience, providing exceptional customer service and support to a variety of programs. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required as travel will be involved within Edmonton and surrounding area.

  • The salary range for this role is $32,271.20 - $44,080.

*(Starting salary based on experience and budgetary considerations)
