The Brantford Downtown Outreach Team uses multidisciplinary roles to work with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health, and substance use in the Brantford area.

As the Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise staff, participate in the recruiting process for program staff and provide guidance in staff performance management
  • Facilitate and coordinate intra-agency and external case management meetings
  • Coordinate and deliver client-facing services through each position in a daily schedule of activities for this multidisciplinary team
  • Deliver client-facing harm reduction and referral-based services, as well as community-facing coordination of referrals and service delivery inquiries
  • Maintain data quality for evaluation purposes
  • Coordinate programming funds; collect record and provide receipts for funders

Hours of work: 37.5 hours weekly. Monday to Friday, with the possibility of evenings should the need arise for in-reach or outreach function.

Contract ends: March 31, 2024

Training: Initial comprehensive training related to all aspects of the role, as well as access to ongoing professional development

  • Have a diploma in the Social Services or a related field
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the complex barriers (systemic and intrinsic) associated with the experience of homelessness
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of Harm Reduction activities and the ability to deliver substance-related safety information from a professional lens
  • Demonstrate leadership characteristics, teamwork skills, and the capacity to prioritize client-centered service provision with other responsibilities of the role
  • Be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract and driver’s license for the purposes of driving an outreach van and/or agency vehicles
  • Be able to manage exposure to frequent vicarious traumatic stress
  • A working knowledge of Brantford-based services is preferred
  • Provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19
