Position: Chairside Dental Assistant or Certified Dental Assistant

Hours: Temporary position – 3 days a week with a possibility for extension

Wage Range: $23.00-28.00

 

Position Summary

 

REACH Dental Clinic is committed to providing a comprehensive range of oral care services of the highest quality to all its patients. We strive to educate all our patients who receive treatment at our Clinic. We are a social enterprise and receive no government funding. Thus, we rely on fees and private financial donations to do the work we do.

 

Accountable to the Dental Manager, the Chairside Dental Assistant/Certified Dental Assistant plays a key role in maintaining the warm, friendly environment for which we are known.  The Chairside Dental Assistant/Certified Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting dentists during examination and treatment of patients and performing regular CDA’s duties.

Qualifications and skills

  • Graduation from a recognized CDA program and registration with the College of Dental Assistants.
  • 2 years’ experience working in a dental clinic preferred.
  • Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized populations
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the social determinants of health and anti-oppression being the foundation for patient care
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good communication skills to liaise between the clinical team and reception team
  • Flexible, with a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of Power Practice an asset.
  • Ability to speak more than one language is an asset.
