The Refugee Centre, a non-profit organization based in Montreal, Quebec, is seeking a part-time Resettlement Worker to assist refugees in finding employment throughout Canada. This position will be approximately 20 hours per week and pay 18-20 dollars per hour based on experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to employers and job placement agencies across Canada to identify job openings suitable for refugees
  • Assist refugees in developing resumes and cover letters, and provide guidance on job interview techniques
  • Provide ongoing support to refugees once they have secured employment, including assistance with workplace integration and language training
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities related to employment services provided to refugees
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members at The Refugee Centre to ensure that all services are coordinated and delivered effectively
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to remain up-to-date on employment trends and best practices for working with refugees
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (ex: DEC, DEP) in social work, international development, or a related field preferred
  • At least two years of experience working in refugee resettlement or employment services
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for working with refugees and a commitment to social justice
