Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Email Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the email production workload by coordinating content, building, testing, and reporting on Festival e-blast communications across the 42nd Vancouver International Film Festival, including weekly newsletters, program announcements, daily Festival e-blasts, outreach e-blasts and customer email communications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with Marketing and Programming team to develop an email content plan and publishing schedule.
  • Contribute to the development of email template designs, working within VIFF’s brand guidelines.
  • Build weekly newsletters, daily Festival eblasts, programming announcements, outreach campaigns and customer communications in Mail Chimp using drag-and-drop email design templates to format text, images, logos and buttons.
  • Work with the Marketing Team on audience list segmentation, content customization and campaign automation and scheduling.
  • Assist with the coordination of copy, graphics and content for email campaigns, working closely with the Content Coordinator, Programmers and Marketing team.
  • Support the proofing and testing of email campaigns.
  • Optimize campaigns to improve open rate, clickthrough, conversion, as well as specific marketing goals.
  • Track and report on email performance, analyze results to provide insight for email optimization and future programs.
  • Support the Digital Communications Coordinator with building webpages using Wordpress

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years email marketing experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Mail Chimp preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail – proofing copy, graphics and testing links.
  • Creative thinker, with an eye for design and layout.
  • Display problem-solving skills to address and solve technical problems that arise.
  • Experience with InDesign, Photoshop (image resizing, simple graphics)
  • Experience with CMS – WordPress preferred
  • Experience with Slack, Asana and/or Filemaker, an asset.
  • Experience with HTML/CSS coding for email, an asset.
  • Flexibility with work hours and availability on select evenings and weekends.
