Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In the role, the candidate will work closely with the other members of the Donor Relations, Fundraising, and Administrative teams. Acting as the first point of contact for most donors, the Donor Relations team provide follow up communications to our donors as well as issue and send tax receipts, thank you correspondences, and participate in other forms of stewardship.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for majority of donor (and potential donor) communications including in person, on the phone, and written (e-mail, paper, and online)
  • Accepts and processes monetary and in-kind donations
  • Issues acknowledgments and tax receipts
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of CRM and other donation-related records
  • Assists with ongoing donor stewardship
  • Assists with in-house mailings
  • Assists with other administrative and fundraising tasks as needed

Job Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite required
  • Proficiency with CRMs (especially eTapestry) an asset

Experience:

  • Experience in a customer service-focused setting
  • Experience working with eTapestry and/or other fundraising database or CRMs
  • Work or volunteer experience with the NFP sector an asset

Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be personable both in person and on the phone
  • Highly proficient with computers especially Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and CRMs
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and be inquisitive
  • Ability to work well with a team and independently
  • Genuine concern for and understanding of wildlife and environmental issues

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to spend extended periods using a computer keyboard
  • Requires extended periods of sitting

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires working near materials and animals that may trigger allergic reactions
  • Open office environment, with equipment noise and the possibility of frequent interruption
  • Some evening and weekend work will be required
  • Some off-site work may be required
  • Required to walk on concrete floors in the building
