Position: Assistant Behaviour Consultant

Location:  Prince George

Hours: 21 hours with the opportunity for additional casual hours.

We are looking for an Assistant Behaviour Consultant to join our Sources B.A.S.I.C. team! This individual must be compassionate, organized, and client-focused with experience working with children, youth, and families. This is an ideal role for an individual working towards their BCBA designation as they will be clinically supervised by a BCBA.

Description of position

Reporting to the Manager of Family Services, the Assistant Behaviour Consultant is a part time employee of Sources Community Resources. The successful candidate will conduct functional and skill assessments, develop Intervention Plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans, teach plan implementation, and supervise the implementation of plans. They will work as a part of an interdisciplinary team, under the direct mentorship and supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Write accurate session notes and maintain files.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Collect/monitor/record data and review client progress with analyst and other team members.
  • Develop, teach, and demonstrate the strategies of the program.
  • Assist in overseeing the clinical skills of other team members.
  • Case management and report writing.
  • Contribute to a strong team environment.
  • Some administration duties are required.
  • Facilitating group and individual client sessions.

 

Program Specific Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a caseload and provide direct services to families referred to the program.
  • Position is clinically supervised by a BCBA, which can be used towards certification hours.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or another related field.
  • Minimum 2 years working with families, or other related experience.
  • Knowledge/awareness/agility around people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge/awareness/agility around people of many different cultures.
  • Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and central data systems
  • Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written in English
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training (Training may be accessed through Sources)
  • Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal
  • Records Review Program Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract
