General Manager, Membership Growth Initiative

 

Nature and Scope:

Reporting to the GM, Membership Growth Initiative, the Marketing & Communications Assistant will work as part of a collaborative team to create and deliver a range of marketing, communications, digital, and video content for our YMCA at Home+ website and YMCA Ignite. The coordinator will assist us in attaining our objective of enhancing our digital presence and fostering connections with diverse communities across British Columbia and beyond.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the growth of www.ymcahome.ca internal and external audiences through social media and audience engagement strategies.
  • Support the development and creation of e-learning courses as required by our clients.
  • Support the design and editing of digital and print assets, video, and web content.
  • Write clear, accurate, and original copy for a variety of platforms including print, advertisements, social media, websites, newsletters, and email.
  • Monitor analytics and consumer reaction of YMCA at Home using website and social media analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A degree (or in degree in progress) in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following areas: graphic design, photography, website development, virtual services and content delivery, e-learning course creation, marketing, social media advertising and/or social media community development.
  • Strong proficiency with one or more of the following platforms: Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier Pro, Articulate 360, Absorb, Squarespace, and/or Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with marketing and communications projects.
  • Strong oral communication and exemplary writing skills, including copywriting, promotional writing, business writing, web, social media, and editing.
  • Collaborative with a customer-focused, positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • A self-starter with the ability to initiate projects and see them through to completion.
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and juggle multiple demands with competing timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and decisions and create action plans based on information discovered.
  • Creative problem solver, with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Experience producing materials by working with designers and print/production vendors.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
