About the Opportunity

 

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Skills Society main office and Action Lab. We are looking for a skilled professional who is creative and motivated to help us implement a growth strategy for our Action Lab social enterprise. There may also be some growth into benefits administration and liaison over time. In this role you will support organizational operations, provide critical administrative support to the Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team, and Board of Directors of Skills, and be responsible for the coordination and growth of the Skills Society Action Lab social enterprise. There is also the potential for support of the MyCompass Planning Board.

 

Responsibilities We See at Present Include:

 

Approximately 70% of the role is managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Skills Society main office, including:

 

  • Overseeing the greeting and corresponding with Skills Society stakeholders via phone, email, and in person at the main office
  • Providing administrative support, for example the preparation of meeting packages for the Board, monitoring and ordering office supplies, booking meeting spaces
  • Coordination and overseeing logistics of events (i.e., Annual General Meeting), training and special projects (i.e. employee Shout Out Wall), including planning, booking space, printing and preparing materials, and communications
  • Helping to create a space that is inclusive and welcoming for shared spaces within the Skills office
  • Research, writing, and support with report writing
  • Supporting the Senior Team weekly with meeting notes and Management team bi-weekly with notes
  • Building rapport with staff, people we serve and external stakeholders

 

Approximately 30% of the role is stewardship and coordination of Action Lab, including:

 

  • Liaising with current and prospective clients, fielding inquiries, and managing all bookings
  • Hiring, training, coordination and oversight of Action Lab Hosts
  • Managing Action Lab Shop inventory and sales
  • Coordinating quarterly smudging of Action Lab Treaty Renewal and Reflection Space by a Knowledge Keeper
  • Assisting with marketing and communications, including the creation of Eventbrites
  • Assisting with the preparation of packages and materials for Action Lab consultancy contracts
  • Maintain the Action Lab space, including monitoring and ordering supplies

 

Ideal Candidate for this Role will

 

  • Have bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience with research, synthesizing information, and writing
  • Have comfort navigating ambiguity and creativity in the face of challenges
  • Be a self starter with strong initiative
  • Be highly organized and excellent time management
  • Be charismatic with strong relationship building skills

Starting salary range is $68,000 to $72,000 and is commensurate with related education and demonstrated experience. The position is based on a 37.5 hour work week. We offer a competitive benefits package. The position includes 4 weeks vacation.
