Position: Permanent CLW Floater
Location: Archway House
This position requires HSA Union membership and is open to applicants of all genders.
Hours: 40 Hours (Saturday/Sunday 10am to 6pm) and 3 days/week Floater (Monday to Friday hours scheduled weekly hours as needed for the program).
*Shift times will vary dependent on the needs of the program. Must have flexible schedule and be available days, evenings, and overnights.* Must have a valid BC driver’s License Class 4*
We are looking for a Community Living Worker to join our Sources Community Living Services team! This individual must be Passionate about working with people, Engaging, and Empathic.

Description of position:
The Community Living Worker supports individuals with developmental disabilities disorder and or intellectual disability in the residence, program, community, and other designated settings. Works mostly in the client's home, workplace and in the surrounding community. Shifts may be daytime, evening or overnight. The Community Living Worker may work independently with clients at times but will also work with other staff.
Job responsibilities:
  • Build meaningful relationships and be an emotional support to service recipients.
  • Engage clients in activities.
  • G-tube feeding
  • Design and implement programming.
  • Assist in meal preparation and diet planning.
  • Assist with swimming (day program activity)
  • Provide personal care support as needed.
  • Document activities and report activities.
  • Medication administration.
  • Transportation of individuals.
  • Support in crisis management.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Key worker to one of the residents
  • Assisting with medical and dental appointments
  • Helping to maintain an environmentally clean and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Other tasks related to improving service delivery.
Organization:
  • Punctual, professional, and a good representative of the organization
  • Thorough and accurate completion of administrative/reporting duties
  • Adherence to policies and procedures, collective agreement provisions, and other regulatory recruitments
Qualifications:
  • 1 year post-secondary education
  • 2 year experience in social service field
  • Good communication abilities
  • Empathy and good emotional Intelligence
  • Ability to physically engage in client support and activities.
  • Good computer skills
  • Valid Class 4 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract

  • Other on-going training to ensure development and best practice.
Start Date: June 5, 2023
Salary: $ 25.05 - $28.75
