Weston Frontlines Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Employment Recruiter. The Employment Recruiter will engage in activities that are intended to help youth find sustainable employment. This entails collaborating closely with local employers, business organizations, and community organizations to create employment openings and set up the direct placement of youths.

 

As an Employment Recruiter, you will evaluate youth background, skills, and interests and match them to potential job openings or job placements. Under limited supervision, the Employment Recruiter will establish and maintain relationships with employers and community organizations to develop job opportunities and support youth employment. As an Employment Recruiter, you will coordinate day-to-day tasks such as soliciting employer interest and involvement in youth employment, posting opportunities, and tracking placement statistics, and assisting youth with job readiness skills such as resume building, cover letter writing, and interviewing.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Incumbents routinely perform approximately 80% of the duties below.

  • Initiates and maintains personal contacts with business and industry representatives to set up recruitment profiles and provide orientations; schedules and visits potential and existing employers to identify and develop positions for youth; and promotes Weston Frontline’s Centre training programs.
  • Assists qualified youth in identifying positions in their field of interest; assists in development of resumes, cover letters and applications; advises youth on employability skills; works with students to gain relevant skills; helps youth explore alternative employment options.
  • Maintains currency with industry trends; updates labor market information by researching online resources, attending meetings, maintaining contacts with regional community colleges & universities, and networking with professional/community organizations that are involved in job placement/training activities.
  • Communicates with employers during youth’ employment and reports results to manager.
  • Works with program manager to collect and track job placement data; compiles data and prepares reports and correspondence regarding job development and placement efforts.
  • Works collaboratively with manager and staff to coordinate and facilitate recruitment days, employer panels, and targeted job fairs.
  • Work with marketing manager to develop marketing and promotional materials to advertise job placement services and activities

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework (such as Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, or Business Administration).

 

EXPERIENCE: Increasingly responsible (approximately 2-4 years of full-time equivalent experience) experience in job development, human resources, job placement, or closely related field.
