Title: Fundraising & Events Assistant - (Canada Summer Jobs Program) 
Type: Temporary (8 weeks), Full-time (35 hours per week) 
Location: Saskatchewan
Salary: $14.00 per hour 
Criteria: Must be 15-30 years of age (inclusively) and a Canadian Citizen, must be eligible to work in Canada. International students not eligible.

Role Overview 

The Fundraising & Events Assistant will support the unique and inspiring event portfolio for Saskatchewan. This will include supporting the staff at Diabetes Canada with the promotion, delivery and execution of a signature community event. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Deliver regular content and promote customer service events to ensure high engagement. 
  • Managing creative content on Canva.
  • Communicate with sponsors, donors and industry. 
  • Work with local retailers to coordinate delivery of materials. 
  • Assist the team with user training and marketing training events to fundraisers. 
  • Create the event program and other promotional tools.
  • Actively participate as part of the Diabetes Canada team in events that we host as an organization such as golf tournaments, gala planning and a virtual walk. 
  • Help with securing ticket sales and community asks for fundraising events.
  • Administrative duties such as data entry, mail solicitation, phone call follow-up, invoicing, photo copying and other duties assigned to the ongoing projects. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to take initiative and be self-directed. 
  • Ability to use Canva.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fluency in English, both verbal and written. 
  • Comfortable making telephone calls. 
  • Engaging and outgoing personality to support working with a wide variety of people. 
  • Ability to protect confidential information. 
  • Represent the Diabetes Canada in a professional manner. 
  • A positive, caring, non-judgmental approach with others. 
  • Proficiency in the MS Office excel, word and online resources. 
  • Strong organizational and administration skills.
