About Us

The Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) exists to serve the public interest through the regulation of professional speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Alberta. ACSLPA’s regulatory work includes setting admission standards, considering applications for regulated membership and issuing practice permits, creating and enforcing a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, investigating complaints of unprofessional conduct, creating guidelines and practice documents, enforcing continuing competence standards, and more.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Updating online professional learning modules for regulated speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Alberta, including learning objectives and principles, content, format, learning activities, and accessibility strategies. The purpose of these learning modules is to provide professionals with regulatory knowledge relevant to their practice in AB, including expectations regarding registration requirements, continuing competence and professional conduct.
  • Investigating/completing a review of applicable and relevant legislation, regulations, standards of practice and legal principles for consideration related to learning modules.
  • Creating learning module content (which may include corresponding policies and procedures), quiz questions, website content, messaging to regulated members and promotional materials.
  • Planning and executing the development process, including managing time and scope constraints.
  • Regular reporting on the progress of development of the professional learning modules to their supervisor and organization staff.
  • Participating in organizational meetings and collaborating with College staff to ensure completion of project deliverables.


  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of the team.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Excellent computer software skills.
  • Legal research and writing skills would be an asset.
  • Policy administration skills would be an asset.

Reporting Requirements

Will have daily, on-site supervision with SLP Practice Advisor. Supervisor will provide:

  • job specific training;
  • work, instructions, and tasks; and
  • evaluation of work.

Education & Experience

  • Preferred Post-secondary level of education.
  • Awareness of current perspectives on anti-racism, anti-discrimination, cultural safety, cultural humility, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
