Marketing and Communications Specialist

Permanent -Full Time

 

WIN House provides individuals and their children fleeing violence crisis response and intervention, safe temporary accommodation, and support for basic needs. Those seeking our services are offered trauma-informed, client-centered programming and support, access to resources, information, and referrals to community supports.

 

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for the development, execution and evaluation of effective communications strategies, initiatives, and activities, the creation, conceptualization, execution and evaluation of internal and external communications, provides support for grant writing and completion of other duties as assigned.

 

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will:

  • Contribute to Development Team plans, strategies, goals, and objectives by providing advice and guidance regarding communications activities, policies and practices
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote fundraising initiatives, events, and programs
  • Social media and website management, using platforms strategically to raise awareness, drive engagement, and promote fundraising efforts
  • Content creating, collaborating with different team members and WIN House ambassadors to highlight impact of the organization work
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with Agency leaders and staff to develop a solid understanding of Agency objectives, operations, and priorities
  • Conceptualizes, develops, and executes external communications; creates engaging content for a broad range of channels and audiences
  • Supports grant preparation, internal process development and documentation; completes grant applications on and ongoing and ad-hoc basis
  • Completes other duties and special projects as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English or a related field
  • Experience with programs - Microsoft, Adobe, Canva, Hootsuite, Wix, Constant Contact
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in strategy development, execution, and evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluation of metrics and data to evaluate operational effectiveness
  • Must embrace the Mission, Vision, and Values of WIN House
  • Strategic and creative mindset, meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in email, MS Office and related business and communications tools

 

Standard hours of work are 8:30 to 4:30 from Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 to 2:30 on Fridays. This position may require some evenings and weekend work, time will be flexed accordingly.  The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year combined with a comprehensive extended health benefit package and pension plan.
