Reports To: Language Lead
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
LINC 1: Monday to Thursday, 9-12pm plus prep. In-person class. 15 hours/week
LINC 2: Monday to Thursday, 9-12pm plus prep. In-person class. 15 hours/week
LINC 3: Monday to Thursday, 9-12pm plus prep. In-person class. 15 hours/week
LINC 4: Monday to Thursday, 12:30-3:00pm plus prep. In-person and online. 12.5 hours/week
LINC 5/6: Monday to Thursday, 12:30-3:00pm plus prep. In-person and online. 12.5 hours/week.
Language Instructors are responsible for delivering Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)-based settlement English language services for newcomers to Canada according to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) established language training outcomes. This position is responsible for planning lessons that utilizes and adapts classroom materials for teaching. Language Instructors are also responsible in setting up field trips, inviting guest speakers, and providing referrals to community resources for students when needed.
