Frontlines Toronto is currently at a pivotal moment in its organization. As the organization grows and expands its programming, there is a pressing need to address the increased demands and create dedicated spaces for programming, personal counselling, and staff growth. With a vision to establish "The Frontlines Youth Excellence Centre" within the next 10 years, and to grow its individual giving portofolio. Frontlines is looking to build a fundraising structure to the needs of its growth vision. 

 

The pivotal force driving this transformative change will be the Director of Philanthropy. Frontlines is currently in search of a capable individual to spearhead and the establish the Philanthropy department with the support of the Executive Director. As the ideal candidate, you possess a captivating visionary outlook combined with adept strategic and conceptual fundraising capabilities. Your reputation as an esteemed communicator garners respect from both peers and staff, making you a sought-after relationship cultivator and an exceptionally effective motivator. Moreover, you have expertise that extends to cultivating a culture of philanthropy within organizations.Your combined attributes and accomplishments mark you as the key figure to steer Frontlines toward a successful and vibrant fundraising future.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Lead the implementation of the fundraising strategy for the organization and play an integral role in the growth of Frontlines individual giving program. 
● Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective and current major givers, monthly givers, Foundations, Corporations, and Community partners, along with their representatives and decision-makers. 
● Ensure that donors remain consistently engaged and are presented with a compelling value proposition for potential engagement and revenue generation. 
● Provide operational leadership to ensure the effective stewardship and appropriate recognition of all donor and funding relationships. 
● Identify, assess, and curate a list of prospective major givers and other partnerships and maintain its ongoing relevance.
● Collaborate closely with the communications and marketing team to ensure a harmonized messaging approach that promotes campaigns cohesively. 
● Participate in the creation of marketing and communication materials aimed at bolstering partnerships and enhancing Frontlines' brand.
● Collaborate with the Frontlines Board to explore diverse avenues of new giving potential in their fundraising initiatives. 
● Recruit, oversee, mentor, and evaluate a dedicated team specializing in individual giving, offering constructive support to encourage professional development and continuous learning.
 

YOU BRING:

● University degree in a related field or equivalent experience; a professional designation such as Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) is an asset.
● Minimum of 8 years of related experience in various areas of  gift planning, donor relations, and stewardship.
● A proven track record of successfully establishing and sustaining donor relationships, as well as soliciting gifts exceeding $25,000.
● Demonstrate considerable judgment in comprehending donor motivations and intentions, and offer recommendations within the framework of fundraising guidelines.
● Possess excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
● Display proficiency in task prioritization, plan and budget construction, and the formulation and execution of fundraising strategies.
● Demonstrate an excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including the capability to identify and address fundraising practice barriers, collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design.
● Ability to establish and sustain robust, trust-based relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and effectively collaborate within a cross-functional team.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365), Adobe Acrobat, Raiser’s Edge, or equivalent database applications.
● Familiarity with and experience in working with Keela CRM is preferred.
● Understanding of community and youth work within black and brown communities is considered an asset.
