Program Coordinator, Regular, Full-Time

Start Date: Immediately

 

Location: 2615 Clarke Street, Port Moody BC

 

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Saturday
Classification/Salary: $28.32 – 32.51 per hour, JJEP Grid Level 12

 

Summary of Duties:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the day to day activities of the Food Security program. This includes participating in program planning and delivery; developing / sustaining community partnerships; coordination and support of volunteers; liaising with individuals & families accessing the service and other service providers including community partners, contractors and other stakeholders; participating in program evaluation and in development/implementation of procedures which ensure evidence based practice.

 

Responsibilities:
1. Provides leadership in the day-to-day operation of the program(s) by ensuring program guidelines, and policies are adhered to, and program standards and licensing requirements are met.
2. Provides orientation, direction and support to volunteers in order that they carry out their duties in a competent manner. Recruits, screens, trains, schedules, supervises and plans the work of volunteers.
3. Makes recommendations to the Supervisor regarding program evaluation to ensure that the program remains effective and efficient.
4. Maintains related records and reports in accordance with established policies and procedures

 

Qualifications Required:
 A minimum post-secondary diploma in a field related to Social Work, Community Development, Food Security or related areas.
 A minimum of 3 years’ experience in program coordination including developing / supporting community partnerships, volunteer management, providing support to individuals/families, needs assessment, monitoring and evaluation.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 Demonstrated to work effectively with individuals/families, volunteers, other service providers including contractors, community partners and other stakeholders related to food security projects.
 Demonstrated strong leadership and instructional skills;
 Strong verbal and written communication skills;
 Current First Aid Certificate;
 Clear Criminal Record Check;
 Access to reliable vehicle.
