The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides direct patient care to clients within residential Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services (WMTS). At WMTS you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive biopsychosocial support for individuals with addictions and concurrent disorders. This includes clients in acute withdrawal from one or more substances. Your focus will be on comprehensive health assessment, individualized treatment plans, and supporting continuity of care through collaboration and referrals. The NP at WMTS provides episodic primary care to clients in program and assists with transfer of care to more permanent services. Our NPs also provide expertise to inform policy decisions where appropriate. The NP provides guidance and coaching to other members of the WMTS team, including non-medical staff, to ensure best service possible. The WMTS Nurse Practitioner:
Hours of work: 16 to 20 hours a week. Ideal is Monday and Saturday. This could be covered by one or two NPs, so please note availability in cover letter (final schedule to be negotiated with successful candidate or candidates).
Training and Capacity Building: Interested in the role but don’t have experience specific to addictions? We can work with a compassionate approach and willingness to learn! We will collaborate on a training and capacity building plan to grow skill and confidence in working with our client population. We also support ongoing professional development.
