Role Overview:
The Manager, Signature & Third Party Events is responsible for developing, executing, evaluating and optimizing peer-to-peer fundraising programs. The role works collaboratively across the organization to ensure an integrated approach is applied and utilizes this entry point as a pipeline to ongoing support of Diabetes Canada. The Manager is responsible for building relationships and inspiring individuals to support the mission through peer-to-peer fundraising and volunteer driven events, with the goal of leading individuals into deeper levels of engagement and support. This role has no direct reports.
The Manager, Signature & Third Party Events will oversee the strategy, growth, development and implementation of our volunteer-led, P2P fundraising events Lace Up, MDF (‘Do-it-Yourself’) fundraising, endurance, and small-scale volunteer-driven events.
Location:
A flexible work agreement policy in place allowing employees to work on a hybrid schedule, working remotely, and with the expectation of attending in person events when needed. Candidate must reside in Alberta, Canada.
This role includes, but not limited to:
Steward, support and grow an existing portfolio of events.
Actively identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective peer-to-peer hosts and supporters with a focus on retention and acquisition.
Support event hosts with best practice and serve as the subject matter expert for fundraiser hosts, event committees, team captains and participants.
Facilitate pipeline development for integration of peer-to-peer participants into annual giving program
Measure, evaluate, analyze, and refine recruitment and fundraising strategies to enhance participation and revenue.
In partnership with Marketing: develop participant communication strategy with a focus on P2P & Third Party fundraising.
Ensure consistent, meaningful, year-round stewardship for all P2P and Third Party fundraising participants and volunteer leaders.
Ensure first-line customer service for all event participants.
Develop and coordinate annual program promotions including promotion prize, website setup, email communication, rules and regulations and fulfillment.
Develop and deliver tools and training for CFE to maximize their ability to prospect, recruit, manage and cultivate high-level volunteers, event participants, sponsors, and media partners effectively.
Audit and develop national templates and toolkits for the CFE, Team Captains, and relationship managers.
Ensure internal SharePoint site is updated weekly with current program resources and communicate to the regional teams.
Actively seek new business by prospecting, approaching and pitching to new and existing contacts.
Support the larger fund development team priorities to maximize revenue opportunities and experience as appropriate.
Support the delivery and execution of online fundraising strategies including enhanced website, online fundraising app, email, social media
Lead the activation of signature event sponsorship benefits
Work collaboratively with CFE, other key enablers, and volunteer leaders to address specific market opportunities to increase revenue and participation.
Lead program incentive and program promotion fulfillment process with the procurement team including, data analysis, forecasting, prototyping, write-off’s, inventory refreshment and CFE team communication
Supports the Director, Signature & Third Party events with the development and review of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
Complete special projects as assigned and partner with national departments when applicable to ensure the success of the project.
The ideal candidate possesses:
University Degree or College Diploma and/or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the non-profit sector and P2P fundraising
Experience with Luminate and Raiser’s Edge, or other fundraising software
Experience in developing, managing, and implementing successful fundraising programs and events.
Experience and understanding of new business acquisition.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
Very organized with strong time management skills
Clear, consistent, and effective oral and written communicator
Comfortable with ambiguity and change, with an ability to be flexible
