Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for an Assignment Coordinator (Scheduling Services) role who will be responsible for arranging interpreting services for culturally Deaf, oral Deaf, Deafened, hard of hearing and hearing consumers. CHS Interpreting Services provides ASL-English and LSQ-French interpreting services. In this role, you will be responsible for taking requests and scheduling interpreters, undertake the financial processing and reporting of the service, in addition to educating clients and the public on the appropriate use of services.
This will be a full-time contract position, for one year, working Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. You may be required to work shifts from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The ideal candidate is fluent in either ASL (American Sign Language) or LSQ (Langue des signes Québécoise), complemented by two years’ plus administrative/general accounting/customer service experience. You are proficient and comfortable with scheduling assignments utilizing a computerized scheduling system (as well as working with Microsoft Office 365) and can work rotational shifts (days and evenings).
You will also be someone with a sense of urgency who can handle pressure and can manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
