Canadian Hearing Services has an opening for an Employment Consultant – Settlement Services, Peel Region. Reporting to the Manager, Training Services, the incumbent will provide the assistance needed by Deaf/hard of hearing newcomers to Canada in their journey to secure and retain meaningful employment. Services delivered using a person-centred approach include resume/cover letter assistance, job search/interview techniques, job development with employers, job retention support and workplace accommodation strategies.

This will be a permanent, full-time position working Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of employment consulting experience including job development, job trials, and job placement. You will be someone with a sense of urgency who can handle pressure and manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Business or Career Counselling or equivalent, plus excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and excellent written English skills are required. Knowledge of the immigration system and community programs for newcomers is considered an asset. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
