Position Outline: The responsibility of a Transporter of indigenous children is focused on ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and cultural sensitivity while being transported to various designations. It’s crucial for a Transporter to be well-trained, empathetic, and dedicated to the welfare of the children they serve.

Qualifications:

• Indigenous cultural heritage is an asset but not necessary to perform this job.
• Own a reliable four-door vehicle under warranty or have a recent safety inspection by a creditable institution.
• Valid BC driver’s license with a clean driving abstract with a minimum of 4 years safe driving.
• Upon hiring, required to have business insurance with minimum $5 million, 2nd party liability and business class.
• Vulnerable sector criminal record check is required.
• Current first Aid certificate is required.
• Experience working with children and families and asset.
• Ability to always remain impartial, non-judgmental and uphold confidentiality with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong observational and documentation skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certificate in any field related to social services, with skills in conflict resolution, child protection, early childhood development is preferred.
