POSITION: SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

The Inuit Art Foundation (IAF) is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to join our Inuit Art Foundation Administrative team!

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the online brand presence of IAF. This position is a part-time 20 hour a week position.

This position is hybrid in nature and can be completed from anywhere within Canada. If living in the Greater Toronto Area you will be required to work 1-2 days per week in our Toronto Office.

Established in 1987, the Inuit Art Foundation is a non-profit, Inuit led charitable organization providing support to Canada’s Inuit arts communities. The sole national body mandated to promote Inuit art within Canada and internationally, the IAF undertakes advocacy work on behalf of artists and realizes a number of strategies aimed at enhancing the appreciation and interpretation of Inuit art. The Inuit Art Quarterly is the sole magazine dedicated to Inuit and circumpolar Indigenous art. In addition to its role as the publication of record for Inuit artists, it is one of the few sustained platforms profiling Inuit voices to the broader public through published interviews, authored articles and through featured artistic works. The IAQ is an award-winning industry leader in the cultivation and promotion of Indigenous arts writers and is committed to nuanced, dynamic, and multi-vocal writing on the contemporary and historical work of Inuit artists. 

The Role:

A key member of the team, the Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Working collaboratively with the IAF’s programming teams to create and promote the IAF’s content and programs across platforms;
  • Creating and gathering content for social media and draft posts on a regular schedule, including loading content into Agorapulse for required approvals;
  • Developing and implementing an optimal posting schedule based on customer engagement and platform algorithms; and
  • Measuring, recording and monitoring analytics across platforms to measure progress towards established goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma in Administration or Marketing is considered an asset
  • Experience in a social media coordinator role is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Google Suite
  • Interest in Inuit artistic practice
  • Strong ability to think critically and prioritize
  • Interest in learning and growing professionally

The Inuit Art Foundation is an Inuit-led charity providing support to Inuit artists working throughout Inuit Nunaat and beyond. Status: Permanent, Part Time (20 hours per week)

Salary: $25/hr, plus benefits
