CFB Administrative Coordinator

 

Start date and duration: As soon as possible start date for a one year contract. Possibility of extension dependent on funding. 

 

Hours: 20-25 hours per week. We are looking for office coverage and weekly availability for these specific shift dates and times

  • Mondays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesdays 12 to 8 p.m.
  • Thursdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Possible additional day/evening work for special events 

Location: CFB Office in 1-81 Students’ Union Building.

 

Working environment:

  • Three full-time colleagues and 130+ volunteers.
  • This role will primarily work at our reception desk in our lobby, SUB 1-81.
  • Mondays and Thursdays will require front desk coverage while we are closed to clients. Wednesdays will be half front desk coverage and half supporting volunteers in store or at CFB cooking classes. 

Pay and benefits

  • Wage is set at $23/hour to align with Alberta Living Wage. 
  • Health benefits; $50 monthly cell phone subsidy; one free Campus Rec class per semester; paid days off whenever the University is closed.
  • Unlimited vacation day policy, coordinated amongst our small staff to ensure the food bank is always covered.

Position Summary 

Are you an organizing nerd with a love of social justice? Are you looking for a part-time role to complement other work or creative/academic pursuits? The Administrative Coordinator will support the Campus Food Bank in its ongoing pursuit of better organization and more efficient operations to serve our clients as best we can. The role will be integral to ensuring the CFB is as responsive to client needs as possible during an unprecedented spike in demand. 

 

Responsibilities 

Administrative

Client & stakeholder engagement

  • Work at the CFB front reception desk and provide information and troubleshooting support to clients, donors, and other community members who email, call, or drop into our spaces.

Office support

  • Additional tasks that arise (there’s always something to do at the food bank), which may include lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Work collaboratively with other CFB staff and volunteers to maintain service levels.

Required Skills & Experience 

  • A valid Class 5 Operator's License or equivalent, and clean driver's abstract (3 years) is required. Access to one’s own car is an asset. 
  • Experience in office administration including bookkeeping.
  • Confidence with data management and manipulation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently on long-term projects.
