Position: Sexual Assault Services (SAS) Support Worker  

Location: Parksville, Vancouver Island, BC

Hours: 15 hours per week, part time, permanent

 

We are looking for a Sexual Assault Services Support Worker to join our Sources Oceanside team! This position will provide support services to Sexual Assault Survivors in Ladysmith, Nanaimo, and Oceanside areas. This position will work directly with survivors providing emotional and practical support, information, and connection to other resources in the community.  The individual must have strong interpersonal skills, be experienced providing sexual assault support using trauma and culturally responsive practices and work well with people in crisis.

SOURCES Oceanside is a multi-service organization, serving communities in the Oceanside corridor.  With locations in Parksville and Qualicum Beach offering a well-established Child Development Centre as well as a wide range of Mental Health and Social Services.  Our vision is that all children, youth, and families live in a healthy environment.

 

Qualifications / Training / Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Services area. (e.g., Social Work, Criminal Justice).

Degree preferred.

  • Two (2) years recent related experience.
  • Must have current First Aid certification.
  • Ability to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check (CRC)

 

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO ALL QUALIFIED APPLICANTS AND REQUIRES UNION MEMBERSHIP

 

Start Date:  As soon as possible.

 

Salary: Grid 12 $28.32-32.51
