We at LoveHR are pleased to support JHSOK in helping those in need and making our community a better and safer place for everyone, by recruiting for their Justice, Skills, and Employment Department team. This opportunity in Kelowna is available as a full-time (37.5 hrs/week) and part-time (24hrs/week) role with Monday-Friday schedule. This position qualifies for extended health benefits, RRSP, and wage range between $25-29/hr based on experience.
The Employment Program Facilitator delivers the Person-centered and Tailored skills to work Program (APT Program) for clients with multiple barriers incl. substance use, homelessness, and episodic or chronic absences from employment.
The Employment Program Facilitator is responsible and accountable for leading the planning, implementation, and education of participants in the program, focusing on work readiness, training, and low barrier employment opportunities consisting of classroom type learning, individualized learning plans, employment. The Facilitator works closely with the Director of Justice, Skills, and Employment and the administration office to ensure program deliverables and reporting are realized.
The right candidate has a desire to work with individuals with multiple employment barriers, demonstrates a strong competency in teaching/training and an ability to support persons re-entering employment and training environments. Additionally, is highly organized, well versed in computer technology, has exceptional communication and relationship building skills and is capable of thinking outside the box and implementing new ideas. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in coaching/counselling and a degree/diploma in a related field. A valid class 5 BC driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and reliable transportation are required for this role, and the new hire must be willing to travel around the Okanagan with participants in the vehicle.
