Job Summary:

The Supervisor, Senior Services is responsible for the effective administration, leadership, and advancement of senior service programs and the delivery of client-centered services. Responsibilities include program assessment, review, strategy, and implementation.   

The Supervisor, Senior Services, will also be responsible for effective resource allocation and budget management, providing leadership and supervision to the team, and for managing the daily operations of the Senior Services department. This position oversees a variety of programs supporting seniors’ independence, social connectivity, and community engagement with a focus on excellent service provision.

Your Role:

Archway’s Supervisor, Senior Services with the Senior Services Program contributes by:

  • Organizing, coordinating, and overseeing the daily operations of Senior Services in accordance with Archway Community Services policy and funder guidelines.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities to meet the needs of seniors in the community.
  • Identifying opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures, utilizing feedback from clients, program coordinators and community partners.
  • Collaborating with internal partners to increase access to services (e.g. elder abuse, affordable housing for seniors, self-neglect, transportation, loneliness and isolation).
  • Assisting in identifying, pursuing and managing internal and external program opportunities. These may include:
    • Developing engagements with healthcare and other senior serving organizations.
    • Advising on topics such as ageism, elder abuse, and neglect.
    • Identifying research opportunities and collaborations that result in constructive outcomes (e.g., better understanding of evolving community needs and strengthen the case for program development / funding, etc.).

This position is a great fit for someone who is a great communicator, leader, and facilitator, who can manage multiple projects, and is aware of issues facing seniors, older adults and those individuals who have been traditionally marginalized.  The position is also a great fit for someone who knows of various seniors’ programs and support services that are beneficial in mitigating common challenges associated with aging.   The person must also be able to have good crisis de-escalation, dispute resolution, and problem-solving skills.

Our Offer

  • Wage: $30.00 per hour
  • A full-time position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Temporary until January 01, 2025, with the possibility of an extension.

Getting an Interview – you will be considered if you have:

  • A diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Professional experience in the planning, development, and/or administration of programs or services (for the elderly preferred).

The Job Requires you to have:

  • Knowledge of issues facing seniors, older adults and those individuals who have been traditionally marginalized.
  • Knowledge of senior serving programs and support services that would be beneficial in mitigating common challenges associated with aging.
  • Strong supervisory skills including coaching, mentoring, delegating and facilitation skills.
  • Well-developed budgeting skills, able to create and manage multiple program budgets efficiently.
  • Ability to identify, and develop funding sources as well as coordinate the development, writing and submission of grant proposals.
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills to create reports, budgets, presentations, and communicate with staff and colleagues.
  • Good facilitation skills to present information to a variety of audiences in a clear, concise, and effective way, both orally and in writing.
  • Well-developed crisis de-escalation, dispute resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with people in difficult situations.
  • A well-developed ability to switch tasks as interruptions are common.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities which will require a well-developed ability to prioritize competing tasks.
  • A valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driver’s abstract.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
