The Financial Compliance team develops, plans and performs a broad range of projects designed to assess independent service providers' compliance with CLBC's contractual and reporting requirements and to monitor the operation of internal financial controls.

The Role:

As a Compliance Auditor for CLBC, you will be responsible for analyzing service provider financial statements and auditing service providers to ensure service levels and program expenses have been rendered in accordance with CLBC's contractual and reporting requirements. This role also provides valuable insights to regional operations by assisting in service provider financial need assessments, contract funding recommendations, and service-level control reviews.

Duties include:

  • Performing audit procedures designed to evaluate service providers' compliance with contractual service delivery requirements for service levels, evaluate estimates contained in funding guide submissions and funding utilization
  • Evaluating the significance of audit findings and exercising professional judgment and initiative in identifying and resolving audit problems
  • Preparing audit working papers and drafting reports based on the audit findings, including any recommendations to improve processes
  • Contributing to business process improvement within CLBC by identifying control weaknesses and opportunities to streamline financial and operational policies, processes and agreements to mitigate risks
  • Drafting working papers and reports based on the review findings, including any recommendations to improve internal control processes
  • Supporting the development and implementation of improvements to CLBC's contract funding and accountability policy, procedures, and practices

You will work collaboratively and proactively and apply sound and consistent judgment throughout the duties and accountabilities of the position. This is the role for you if you are highly analytical.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • In depth knowledge of auditing frameworks and/or financial compliance practices
  • A minimum of 2 years of closely related work experience such as auditing or conducting financial compliance activities
  • Experience using statistical sampling methodologies
  • Extensive experience using computerized financial systems, spreadsheets, and word processing
  • A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is preferred

Travel: Limited travel as required throughout BC. Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License and a clean Driver's Abstract is required.

Classification/Salary: Financial Officer R24 / $73,855 to $84,134 annually
