We are looking for a Donor Engagement Specialist to join our Advancement Team.

The Donor Engagement Specialist is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, permanent position, responsible for overseeing Wildlife Rescue’s high-level donor and corporate philanthropic donor portfolios, maintaining annual cultivation cycles and growing ongoing donor relationships.
$58,240 to $62,400 annually

You have at least 5 years of experience working with high-level donors and donor cultivation programs and have worked with CRM’s, preferably Salesforce.

Established in 1979, the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC is a leader in the rehabilitation of wild animals and is committed to educating the public on how to coexist peacefully with wildlife. Located in Burnaby, BC, we are western Canada’s busiest wildlife rehabilitation centre, with over 5,000 animal patients admitted each year.
The Advancement program consists of a multidisciplinary team that encompasses Marketing, Communications and Fundraising programs. We work closely with other departments and all staff to provide the highest level of donor and public engagement.

Highlight of Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive donor engagement program with a focus on cultivation of all donor levels, managing high-level donor portfolios and corporate philanthropy
Foster relationships that further stewardship through in-person and virtual engagement activities
Oversee initiatives aimed at high-level and corporate sponsors cultivation, engagement, and acknowledgment
Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to produce written communications that meet planned activities (for cultivation, engagement, and appreciation purposes)
Organize and implement events pertaining to donor engagement and cultivation
Maintain meticulous donor records and track communications and activities in Wildlife Rescue’s donor CRM
Develop processes that track program initiatives and KPIs that can be effectively communicate to the Executive team for presentation to the Board of Directors, Membership, and other stakeholders
Contribute to identifying, exploring, and applying initiatives and programs that carry out the organization’s mission
Key Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of fundraising experience in the nonprofit setting with a focus on donor stewardship and acquisition
Experience coordinating corporate philanthropy giving programs, an asset
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to foster meaningful relationships with external stakeholders
Excellent organization and time management skills with high attention to detail
Experience working in a cross functional, remote team environment
Proven ability to prioritize and be highly adaptable to changing work environments
Experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures and protocols
Proficiency with Salesforce CRM database, or similar
Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel
Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset
