Empowering People. Launching Ideas.
Rise is Canada's only national organization dedicated to empowering people with mental health and addiction challenges to achieve greater social and economic inclusion through entrepreneurship. Through training, mentorship, micro-financing and other customs supports, we help individuals build the skills and access the capital they need to launch a small business that can improve quality of life and enable them to support themselves, their families and communities.
Since 2010, Rise has financed, trained, mentored, and coached more than 2,000 entrepreneurs and disbursed over $3.3 million via 830+ low interest loans. Today, we work in eight locations across Canada – and are growing. Learn more in our Impact Report.
Rise is seeking a highly organized and resourceful professional to provide coordination services to our Programs team as a Bilingual Women+ Program Coordinator from February 2024 to August 2024. Reporting to the Women+ Program Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to help our small but mighty team deliver results and impact for our Women+ Entrepreneurship Program. This is a contract opportunity, with an estimated part-time commitment of approximately 20 hours per week over the course of the 6-month contract. Due to the nature of our work, there will be periods where more or less time will be required. There will be an opportunity to renew this contract, upon confirmation of funding.
Our Training Programs form an integral element of our offering and are often the first exposure to entrepreneurship for many of our clients. Specifically, we’re looking for a driven candidate who has a client-first mentality to take charge with the logistical and outreach rollout of the Women+ Entrepreneurship Program cohorts and activities across Canada. Dealing with concurrent projects and a positive attitude to getting the job done are critical expectations for the successful candidate.
In addition to program coordination responsibilities, the successful candidate will support the Marketing team’s efforts in representing the Rise brand, voice, and online presence across our social media channels. This will also include outreach activities with key identified communities, including Francophones and the Prairies.
Conducting outreach to drive recruitment and supporting marketing initiatives in both official languages is essential to this role. By keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, and creating a welcoming environment for learning, the Bilingual Women+ Program Coordinator will be integral to the success of Rise’s high-impact Women+ Entrepreneurship Program that is helping to change lives for gender diverse Canadians.
Finding the right person for the job
This position is open to bilingual candidates from across Canada to be filled remotely. Our preference is for someone located in the Prairies (Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan) although candidates with experience marketing in the Prairies will be strongly considered.
Rise is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace. We actively seek gender diverse, racialized and indigenous persons, people with disabilities (including people who have experienced mental health and addiction challenges), and additional diverse identities for our team.
