Museum Interpreter / Tour Guide

Interpreters engage visitors by sharing the museum's stories through conversation, activities, demonstrations, and tours. Interpreters provide support on the gallery floor and are responsible for assisting with the delivery of tours as well as providing additional information to visitors about the museum, its collections, and programs.

 

Time commitment: Specified days during the museum’s public hours
Winter Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Weekends, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Summer Hours: Daily 10:00am to 5:30pm

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Being present on the gallery floor and engaging with visitors.
• Greeting museum visitors.
• Contributing to a positive visitor experience.
• Delivering guided tours to visitors for group bookings.
• Ensuring the safety of visitors and artifacts.
• Assisting with special events.
• Gathering visitor feedback and comments.

Requirements for this position:
• The ability to work with diverse groups of people including children.
• A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• A strong interest and understanding of Canadian aviation history.
• The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Be dependable and committed to carrying out your role to the best of your
abilities.
• A criminal record/vulnerable sector check.
• Fluency in a second language is an asset.
• Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification is an asset.
