CreativeHub 1352 is looking for a Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to join our Board of Directors and strengthen community outreach, diversity, and inclusion in the delivery of organizational services.


CreativeHub 1352 is a non-profit, charitable, community-driven organization which exists for the advancement of community cultural development through the arts, heritage, and environmental sciences. CreativeHub 1352 is one of many groups vital to the reuse of the Small Arms Inspection Building, a historically significant site, owned and operated by the City of Mississauga. As a community programming partner, we deliver a mix of programs, projects, education, and events that foster collaboration, engage the community, and enrich people's lives. All proceeds are reinvested to support community arts, heritage and environmental programs.

Role of Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:


The CreativeHub 1352 Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is a voting member of the Board of Directors and appointed in a manner consistent with the bylaws of the organization. The Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion works collaboratively with the Chair, Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff to support the Board in achieving its governance and community outreach responsibilities. 

Areas of Responsibility:


The Director of DEI oversees and advises the CreativeHub 1352 Board on all DEI matters and is responsible for:

  • Translate organizational strategies into tactical plans with clear actions, accountability, and goals to promote DEI best practices;
  • Work with Director of Programs and staff to develop and/or implement community outreach activities, campaigns, programs, and strategies that promote DEI within the organization;
  • Monitor and evaluate community outreach and diversity initiatives against existing and new programs;
  • Serve as an internal expert to educate CreativeHub 1352 staff and board members on critical DEI-related issues;
  • Collaborate with HR on sourcing, hiring and retaining diverse candidates by connecting with professional organizations and leveraging social media and community connections. Develop programs to attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce;
  • ​​Be informed about and connected to research and best practice in the area of DEI;
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Experience specializing in community outreach including the development of strategy through implementation;
  • A thorough understanding of community outreach and DEI principles, practices, and procedures;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prepare board reports; 
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences;
  • Knowledge of appropriate community resources in the Mississauga area;
  • A strong understanding of community building and engagement with equity seeking groups;
  • Relevant College and/​or University degree or applicable experience;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), team-building and problem-solving skills;
  • Volunteer Board Experience is an asset.
