For over 20 years, FamilySmart has been supporting child and youth mental health by helping families and other caring adults. We know children, youth and young adults can do better when the adults who care about them are supported.

About Us:

  • FamilySmart connects with over 10,000 young people and families every year. We have no waitlists and there is no cost to families for our services.
  • FamilySmart currently serves all communities in BC, as well as the Edmonton region of Alberta with our operating partner CASA and we are working on expanding our programs.
  • We provide emotional support, information, resources, and help in navigating services for parents & caregivers of a child, youth or young adult with a mental health and/or substance use challenge.
  • FamilySmart’s Working Well Together training and workshops invite families, young people and professionals to come together to enhance their understanding of each other and better support child and youth mental health.
  • Every year we lead the celebration of National Child & Youth Mental Health Day on May 7th  with the message “I Care About You”.

We are particularly interested in recruiting young adults who want to enhance how we help families by lending their perspective on how adults can support the mental health of young people. Along with your perspective, our board is seeking members with professional experience in finance with any industry, in fundraising, in marketing or as healthcare providers working as part of multidisciplinary teams.
