Ewart Angus Homes Incorporated, operating as Cedarhurst Dementia Care Home, is a charitable, not-for-profit retirement home for people living with dementia. We are looking for dynamic, committed individuals who are interested in helping shape the future of our work by joining our board of directors. We are particularly interested in individuals who have a passion for enhancing the lives of people living with dementia and bring skills in at least one of the following areas: governance, fundraising and donor development, legal, business development/retirement industry, dementia healthcare/brain health or research and finance.

Our main operation, Cedarhurst Dementia Care Home, is a small not-for-profit retirement home, purpose built exclusively for people living with dementia. At Cedarhurst, we are adopting a new culture that encourages living the way we all want to live – with joy, love, personal choice and hope. We have long been recognized as a pioneer in specialized dementia care and differentiate ourselves from other homes by evolving from a focus on “care” to creating a new “living” culture for people living with dementia and for their families. We also operate Angus House a multi-level complex which offers market rent apartments  and supportive housing for people living with dementia.

Our mission is to create Joyful Living for people living with dementia. Our vision is Joyful Living. Every day. We encourage independence and provide opportunities for growth so that residents live with purpose, meaning and joy every day.

  • A three-year term
  • Preparing for and attending bi-monthly board meetings (excluding a summer hiatus)
  • Participating on at least one board committee and contribute to small Board-level initiatives/projects
  • Spending up to six to eight hours per month of your time on board-related activities

If you know someone living with dementia, or know someone who knows someone living with dementia, you know how devastating it is. If you are inspired by the prospect of being part of a truly significant change that will have an impact on people today and set the standard for tomorrow, then we want to talk to you.
