About The Speech & Stuttering Institute
The Speech & Stuttering Institute (SSI) provides speech therapy to children with speech sound disorders and people of all ages who stutter. We are pioneers of inclusion, equity, and excellence in speech therapy. We support inclusion and equity in speech therapy by providing subsidies to families with demonstrated financial need and keeping our fees accessible. We are able to do this through the generosity of our donors. SSI has also been recognized by the Ontario government as a “Centre of Training and Development.”
The role
SSI is looking for volunteers to help with an exciting opportunity to raise funds for our cause. We are a charity partner in a cGaming (Charitable Gaming) initiative led by the City of Toronto in partnership with the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association. In this initiative, SSI’s volunteers cover in-person shifts at Rama Gaming House in Scarborough. For every shift covered by our volunteers, the gaming house distributes a part of its proceeds from charitable gaming activities at their location to SSI. The funds raised support SSI’s speech and stuttering therapy programs and helps keep our fees accessible to our community.
