Help Drive Positive Change for Indigenous Girls

For over a quarter of a century, Stardale Women's Group has been a beacon of empowerment for Indigenous girls, a source of strength for their families, and a catalyst for communities to embrace the essential values of reconciliation. We proudly stand as a nurturing community and a safe haven for young participants aged 10-17, supporting their journey of learning, growth, and self-discovery as they shape their futures.

At the heart of our mission lies a crucial role: volunteer drivers. These dedicated individuals play a pivotal part in our organization by ensuring that our participants have a safe and dependable means of transportation to and from our weekly evening programs, as well as various group activities and events on select weekends.

The absence of reliable transportation poses a significant challenge for many of our young participants. By eliminating this barrier, we empower these youth for both immediate and long-term success through consistent attendance and active participation.

Driver Requirements:

  • Age 18 or older with a minimum of two years of driving experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Submit a recent Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Be proficient in using maps or electronic navigation devices, have access to Wi-Fi and email, and possess basic computer skills.
  • Have availability on Monday or Wednesday evenings between 4 pm and 9 pm, or on select weekends between 9 am and 9 pm.
  • Prior experience working with Indigenous communities is considered an asset.
  • Possess strong listening skills, and show empathy, reliability, and cultural sensitivity to meet the unique needs of our participants.

Whether you have availability once a week or once a month, we'd love to hear from you!  Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of Indigenous youth, breaking down barriers, and helping them access the opportunities they deserve. Together, we can drive positive change and inspire brighter futures.
