The Board Member Consultant provides expert advice and guidance to TAPC's boards of directors to help them fulfill their duties and responsibilities effectively. This individual will work closely with board members to assess their current practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to improve board performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of TAPC to identify strengths and weaknesses
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to board members on board governance, fiduciary duties, and legal responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve board performance, including board member recruitment, orientation, and training
  • Work with board members to develop effective policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Provide training and support to board members on fundraising, strategic planning, and other key non-profit management topics
  • Facilitate board meetings and retreats to help improve board effectiveness and performance
  • Build strong relationships with board members and provide ongoing support and guidance as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, management, or non-profit leadership
  • At least 3 years of experience working in non-profit board governance, with a focus on improving board performance and effectiveness
  • Strong knowledge of non-profit governance, board fiduciary duties, and legal responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with board members and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
