Become a Sea Smart Summer Camp Volunteer!

Our week-long day camps are fully outdoors, immersing campers and volunteers in fun nature experiences. We cover topics such as ocean conservation, ecology, exploration, STEAM careers, natural history, and Leave No Trace.

We’re currently seeking youth and young adults in the Vancouver & wider local Lower Mainland area to act as on-site volunteers during the Summer Camp 2023 season. Camps are held at Kitsilano Beach and Trout Lake.

As a Sea Smart Summer Camp Volunteer, you’ll be working with children aged 6-10, helping them to understand and appreciate our oceans and natural world through activities, crafts, and games. You’ll also act as positive role models for campers, and professional and polite liaisons with parents and guardians.

Learn more about our summer camps here.

You’ll gain…

  • Direct experience mentoring and working with youth in an inclusive, education-centered program

  • A knowledge and understanding of essential ocean and nature concepts

  • The chance to practice your leadership and role model skills within the community

  • Connection with other Sea Smart volunteers and educators
