Vision Mate
Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB)
Edmonton area
2 to 4 hours per week
closes in 94 days (Fri, 29 Dec)

Are you looking to volunteer to give back to your community but need a flexible schedule? CNIB's Vision Mate program could be the perfect fit!
Make a major impact in the life of a person experiencing vision loss by volunteering with CNIB! This opportunity is a 1:1 community-based companionship program that pairs a CNIB client with a volunteer. Volunteers meet with their "match" for an average of 2 hours per week, at a time that is mutually convenient for both the volunteer and client. Together, you may do a wide variety of variety of activities which might include walking, exploring your community, running errands, socializing, or helping to organize mail at the client's home. Through this opportunity, you will learn sighted guide techniques, vision loss etiquette, and you'll learn about the ways in which people experience and adapt to vision loss.
Volunteers are matched based on schedule and location, but we take into account personality hobbies, and interests to create the best possible match.
Someone in your community would love your support, friendship and time; volunteer as a Vision Mate today!
