About Good Neighbour Project: 

The Good Neighbour Project (GNP), launched in March 2020, is a Canadian charity dedicated to providing on-the-ground support to connect isolated vulnerable people with resources and necessities. Created at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, GNP mobilized over 6000 volunteers in 25 cities to address an access gap between equity-seeking members of the community and essential items like food and medication. In addition to its volunteer delivery support program and seniors socialization initiative, GNP is currently developing other poverty relief initiatives.


About Role:

The Good Neighbour Project (GNP) is seeking a community-focused and passionate individual to join our team as an Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant will provide administrative and organizational support to the Executive Director and leadership team, ensuring efficient functioning of the executive office within GNP. They will manage the organization's project documentation within Google Drive, and any arising administrative duties as required. They will also serve as a key liaison, managing communications between GNP and the public.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Director with managing organizational communications and project coordination 
  • Organize and maintain all project-related documents in the Google Drive folders
  • Collaborate with team members to update project files as needed to maintain accuracy and completeness
  • Serve as first point of contact for the organization, managing and responding to communications from the public, and escalating urgent correspondence as necessary
  • Provide high-level administrative support to leadership team, anticipating the needs of the operational team and proactively addressing them
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Other tasks as assigned


The Ideal Candidate has the following:

  • Prior experience as an Executive Assistant, or in a similar administrative role
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in handling sensitive confidential information
  • Excellent problem solving skills with ability to proactively anticipate needs and mitigate risk
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and most social media platforms
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 


Volunteer Time Commitment: 

  • A minimum of 5 hours to a maximum of 10 hours per week
