Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual with a finance background to join our Board of Directors. As a critical member of the board, you will ensure CTI maintains the highest standards of financial integrity and transparency. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is passionate about using their expertise to help guide an impactful organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support in overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring that financial resources are managed prudently and in line with the mission and strategic goals.
• Provide leadership in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Review and approve financial statements, ensuring they accurately reflect the organization's financial position.
• Advise the Board on financial strategies, investment decisions, and long-term financial planning.
• Support in the external auditor and ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Work closely with the Executive Director and staff to ensure financial processes are streamlined and aligned with best practices.
• Ensure the organization maintains sufficient cash flow and resources to carry out its operations and programs.
• Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, providing insights and recommendations from a financial perspective.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a deep understanding of financial management and nonprofit finance (experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus).
• Previous experience in a senior finance or accounting role, ideally in a leadership capacity (e.g., CFO, Finance Director, Treasurer).
• Strong knowledge of financial best practices, financial reporting standards, and nonprofit accounting.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, present clear financial reports, and make strategic recommendations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a diverse group of board members and staff.
• Commitment to the mission of CTI and to upholding the highest standards of ethical governance.
Desired Qualities:

• Ability to balance financial stewardship with the long-term vision of the organization.
• Strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Prior experience serving on a nonprofit board is preferred but not required.
